Dinner Purpose:

  1. Recognize Scouting’s outstanding youth who have achieved the rank of Eagle Scout, the Venturing Summit Award, or Sea Scouting Quartermaster Award.
  2. Introduce Scouts to positive adult role models who share an interest in a selected career field.
  3. Provide an opportunity for businesses to foster a relationship with our future leaders.

Mentor Sponsor Package:

An Eagle Sponsor recognizes the achievement of the Eagle Scout, Venturing Summit Award, and Quartermaster Award recipient by:

  • Contributing a $100 fee which helps cover the dinner cost for the Scout and mentor.
  • Attending the dinner and sharing their profession with the recipient.
  • Inviting the Scout/Venturer to visit their place of business (encouraged but optional).

We would like to secure a mentor for each Eagle Scout/Venturer. To do so, we need an estimated 250 sponsors.

Scouts, Parents, Leaders & Friends participation:

The Eagle Scout award recipients are our honorees and attend at for free. Parents, leaders, and friends are invited to attend as guests.  The guest fee is $40.00 (per person) which includes dinner. For more information and for additional sponsorship opportunities, see Event Fact Sheet here.

 

Additional Awards to be presented

Soaring Eagle Scholarship:

This scholarship was established to recognize students for their accomplishments in Scouting. The Soaring Eagle Scholarship is a $1000/year renewable scholarship, for a maximum of four years ($4000) to attend an accredited college, trade school, or university. Applicants must be qualified and worthy graduating high school seniors. Selection will be made by a designated committee. Applications must be returned to:

Be advised that only those applications postmarked before December 31, 2016 will be accepted.  Annually, the Great Lakes Field Service Council awards up to four scholarships to worthy recipients. National Outstanding Eagle Scout Award:

The NESA Outstanding Eagle Scout Award (NOESA) is a prestigious recognition granted by the local council’s NESA committee to Eagle Scouts who have demonstrated outstanding achievement at the local, state, or regional level. Unlike the Distinguished Eagle Scout Award, which is a national award, the NOESA recognizes Eagle Scouts whose efforts have made a positive impact closer to home.

Often, these men have devoted a lifetime to their profession, avocation, community, and beliefs, at great sacrifice to themselves and their families. Each recipient should receives recognition worthy of a lifetime’s accomplishments.

The presentation of this award should is conducted annually at the Great Lakes Field Service Council’s Building Character Celebration. This event will take place March 2, 2017 at the Suburban Collection Showplace.
