My name is Bill Licht. I am a member of the Michigan Crossroads Council Outdoor Adventure team. I also am the Manager of the D-bar-A Scout Ranch.
My Scouting adventure started when my son came home from school while in the first grade and said he wanted to be a Tiger Cub. He is now an Eagle Scout, and I was there with him for the entire journey. We had the opportunity to attend the 2005 National Jamboree together. I served as a Den Leader, then as a Scoutmaster for 8 years. As part of my District team, I managed the Scouting For Food effort for 10 years, as well as a member of the District Training team.
As a volunteer, I was recognized with the District Award of Merit and the Silver Beaver Award. While an adult leader and Advisor for various committees in the Migisi Opawgan Lodge of the Order of the Arrow, I was recognized with the Vigil Honor Award and the Founders Award
Training is a part of Scouting that I enjoy. I have had the privilege of serving on five NYLT courses, and one of them as the Course Director. Wood Badge was similar - I served on five courses and had the privilege of serving as the Course Director for the C-35-10 course.
In 2011 I was hired to be the Manager of the Ranch. I always loved coming to camp with my Scouts, but now I get to be here every weekend. How awesome is that!
And through it all I have had the support of my wife Lynn who I have been married to since 1977. How awesome is that!
