Community Partner Workshops & Programs

The Great Lakes Council Advancement & Activities committee works with local companies and organizations through it's Community Partners Program to provide Advancement merit badge sessions, workshops, and a variety of Cub Scout, Boy Scout, and Venturing Programs.

Michigan State Numismatic Society

The Michigan State Numismatic Society will hold a Boy Scout Coin Collecting Merit Badge program at the MSNS Convention and Coin Show held at the Macomb Community College Sports and Expo Center on Saturday, November 29, 2014, 1pm - 3pm.

Computer Science Saturday at the University of Michigan Dearborn

Earn the programming Merit Badge at Computer Science Saturday offered by the Student Chapter of Upsilon Pi Epsilon and the Computer & Information Science Department on January 10, 2015.  For more information click HERE.

Merit Badges 

Introduction: There are over 130 merit badges! Any Boy Scout may earn a merit badge at any time. Merit badges improve a Scout by helping him to discover more about sports, crafts, sciences, trades, business and careers that might interest him. A Boy Scout can pick any subject he wants, but should always talk to his Scoutmaster first. Click any badge to learn more!

Merit Badge Counselors: Merit badge counselors are specialists in their fields and are able to pass on their knowledge and passion to Scouts through a series of pre-defined requirements every Scout must accomplish to earn that merit badge. merit badge counselors must fill out an adult registration form and the Merit Badge Counselor Application

Sponsorship: Any merit badge may be sponsored in our local 25 county area by a business or individual. Our Merit Badge Sponsors are noted and thanked for their support of Scouting at the top of their selected merit badge.
